This years class art project was inspired by the immigration curriculum. This encouraged the class to talk about where they are from, their cultures and family. Through this conversation they all brought in something that represented where they were from. These pieces allowed us to create an art piece. We also audio recorded the class talking about what a class tree means to them. The audio plus music edit recording can be played through wireless, device free headphones whilst viewing the art piece.

As usual this art piece will be auctioned off to the highest bidder and all proceeds go to PS9.

The children mainly brought in currency from their family background. Some also decided to bring in some sentimental pieces. With these elements we were able to create a visual class tree using branches and placing their elements around the tree.

To finish the piece off we had it professionally framed so that it is ready to hang.

We audio recorded the children talking about their family history, culture and interests. After the vocal audio was recorded we added musical sounds to create an eleven minute soundtrack that can be listened to using wireless, device free headphones.
